On Sunday, September 14, 2025, immediately following the morning worship service, we will be having a congregational meeting for the purpose of holding officer elections for the office of Deacon. The Biblical qualifications for Deacons are found in 1st Timothy 3:8-13.
Our PCA Book of Church Order states in ch.9, section 1: “The office of deacon is set forth in the Scriptures as ordinary and perpetual in the Church. The office is one of sympathy and service, after the example of the Lord Jesus; it expresses also the communion of saints, especially in their helping one another in time of need.”
We encourage all of our members and regular attenders to get to know the two nominees, to ask them any questions you may have regarding their services in these offices, and most of all to pray for them. We must have a quorum to hold this meeting, and all communicant members of Riverside are eligible to vote in this election. Please be in prayer for our nominees and our church in the days leading up to the election.
