Happy New Year!
January 1 marks a time in which we give thanks for God’s grace to us in the year that has passed, but also look forward to what He might bring in the year to come. Many see the new year as an opportunity to make certain changes in their lives and they do so through resolutions, which may or may not be kept (usually not). So rather than making a resolution that is up in the air, I’ve found it more comforting (and helpful) to use this as a time to remember God’s mercy and to renew our covenant with him based on His mercies, rather than our resolutions of best intention. With that said, here is a psalm that has been helpful in guiding my days and my prayers. Lord willing, it will be helpful to you as well.
Psalm 90:12 – “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Blessings.
