As we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection this coming Sunday on Easter, we recall the events leading up to it. It was on Tuesday of that week that the Lord Jesus was anointed at Bethany in preparation for his impending death and burial, and Judas Iscariot negotiated with the chief priests to betray Him into their hands (Mark 14:8-11.)
As we prepare to celebrate Christ’s exaltation in the glory of the Resurrection, let us first remember the humiliation of His suffering for the sake of our sins. Hebrews 2:9 says “But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.” Praise the Lord that He tasted death for us, so that we might have everlasting life through faith in Him. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
