Worship Leader (Part-Time)
Job Description
Riverside Community Church is seeking a Worship Leader to lead and oversee the music ministry for Sunday morning worship. Duties include selecting and performing songs each week; as well as working with other musicians to lead congregational worship in spirit and truth. While instrumental experience is preferred for this position, strong vocal talent is a requirement. This is a part-time position which will typically require 5-10 hours per week. Pay is negotiable based on experience.
Responsibilities of the Worship Leader will include but will not necessarily be limited to:
- Serve weekly as the lead instrumentalist and lead vocalist
- Work with the Pastor weekly to select songs and to design the worship service ensuring that they are in sync with the sermon topic and other elements of the service
- Lead and assist church members and worship volunteers in the area of worship and song
- Work with qualified volunteers to serve with our Music Team, including coordinating schedules for practice
- Have a service-oriented heart, practicing humility and showing love to others.
- Find fill-in musicians when the worship leader is unavailable.
- Enjoy the gospel of grace and the privilege of leading God’s people in worship.
Qualifications:
- Mature and Growing Christian, seeking to live a life that honors and reflects Christ
- Vocal and music skills
- Some experience with leading group worship
- Must be able to communicate to large and small groups of people
- Must be able to work with volunteers for service, including working to improve collective sound
- Must exhibit Servant Leadership, Communication, Time Management and People skills
